Ca' Barba B&B

This is one of the best B&B's we have ever visited. Alessandro had to work hard from the start as we had difficulty receiving email confirmation of our reservation. We knew by others to book early and he was very persistent in helping us secure our reservation. He provided excellent directions and suggestions for getting to the B&B, but was at the Vaporetto stop to meet us and help with our bags. The B&B is very close to the Rialto Bridge yet tucked quietly away from the crowds. The B&B has been tastefully renovated and is a wonderful place to relax after getting lost in Venice. Alessandro has done an excellent job of updating the B&B with all the modern conveniences (all updated plumbing & electrical including air conditioning) while maintaining a charming atmosphere one would anticipate in visiting Venice. The rooms are spacious, beds very comfortable and the bathrooms bright and new - with attention to detail throughout. Alessandro offered 2 books on Venice that give you a wonderfully different perspective and are quick reads. He also provided excellent suggestions for seeing Venice, the first and best to put the maps away and simply get lost. "You are on an island - how lost can you really get"? Breakfasts were truly wonderful. From the good conversation and delicious pastry, to his professionally made espresso & cappuccino, you cannot beat this! Alessandro was the consummate host whose knowledge and love of Venice made this an unforgettable visit. If you are going to Venice, you will not find a better place to stay - we highly recommend Ca' Barba. Thank you Alessandro, you are truly the best!

Absolutely amazing! Great location near everything so walking is easy and grabbing a water ferry works well. We were provided with excellent recommendations and helpful advice around where to go and the best times etc. We felt very attended to (especially with the very helpful map) and were really happy with everything! Rooms were lovely and the whole place was clean and inviting. Breakfast has lots of options and the availability of water was incredibly helpful. Will definitely love to stay here again :)

Ca'Barba was the best place I stayed at during my entire trip to Italy (I traveled for 2 weeks, stayed at 5 different places). Alessandro is fantastic. He is extremely helpful with information- he knows Venice so well! He gave me recommendations for places to eat, when to see different sites, small places that the typical tourists don't know about. I was able to experience the best of Venice in the time frame I was there because of Alessandro. He also provides a DELICIOUS breakfast, and really makes his bed & breakfast feel like home. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and it's in a great location- central but not on a loud street. Venice can be complicated, but Alessandro met me at the vaporetto stop to walk me to the b&b upon arrival and always gave perfect directions to restaurants and sites to see. When I come back (which is hopefully sooner rather than later!) I am definitely staying at Ca'Barba again.

The property itself has been lovingly restored and is in an ideal location--just off the beaten path but still really close to everything. But what really made our stay here perfect was our host, Alessandro. He was so gracious and welcoming from beginning to end, and his tips made our time in Venice much more enjoyable. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Venice, we will certainly stay here again!

Booking at Alessandro's Ca' Barba was like winning the jackpot for our Venice trip. Alessandro was in touch with us before the travel and was very helpful and attentive, gave us perfect explanations and tips. We were probably the only tourists at the airport who actually knew more or less where to go. The way to the B&B was therefore really simple and smooth. He met us at the dock and walked us to the B&B, which is only a 2 minutes walk from the Grand Canal. Arriving there, we really felt like we were visiting family. The room was perfect, beautiful, very clean, romantic, quiet, and Alessandro is the King of Hosts! Always attentive, explaining, funny, with the best advice ever. Alessandro gave our trip a personal, non-touristic touch, and his perfect maps led us to amazing restaurants and beautiful spots. The breakfast was ideal, and the cappuccino (believe the cappuccino freak) was the best in town. Warmest recommendations!

Alessandro is a great host and has a fantastic place in the center of Venice. Our room was very comfortable and cleaned every day. Breakfast was pleasant, healthy and very tasty! Alessandro was a outstanding communicator guiding our arrival and an expert adviser on what to do with our 4 days in Venice! From recommended times and places of what to see and what day of the week to see them! His advise was perfect for our trip. My wife and I found a great family run restaurant with outstanding service and great food within about a 3 minute walk from Alessandro's door! The place, menu and the cost was perfect for us I honestly could not give Alessandro and his CA' Barba B&B a higher review or recommendation!

This is an absolutely great place to stay. The host and staff were amazing. Every morning they delivered fresh pastries to go with the jam and other items in the food basket. It was very quiet and a nice place to stay.
