★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the pleasure of watching this Artist in his atelier and was delighted with his work. It is so refreshing to see something other than the typical tourist demonstrations. This Artist works magic with glass; he makes it seem effortless but I am certain that hundreds of hours have gone into perfecting each life form he creates and achieving the colours that make these pieces so lifelike.
His atelier is not large but it is a feast for the eyes and worth the effort of arranging a visit. . I will definitely go back again when next I am in Venice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the opportunity to visit Mauro Vianello's store and studio where I could admire up close a beautiful collection of excellent marine glass art made by hand by a master craftsman. Mauro's most accommodating and pleasant demeanor made us feel welcome. He is engaging and passionate of his art and transmits that love to his customers. I highly recommend that you make a point of stopping in to visit his studio/store and meet the man personally. It will be an unforgettable experience not to be missed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In a city plastered with tourist-centric glass art, Mauro's work truly stands out. His pieces are moving, beautiful, and emblematic of the time and attention he has put into them.
Best of all, Mauro will let you schedule a lesson with him! My brothers and I booked a few hours during the week for our first glass-shaping experience, and it was amazing. Mauro is an excellent teacher, and at the end of the lesson you have a) some lovely handmade glass pieces, b) a reasonable understanding of the *basics* of working with glass, and c) a newfound appreciation for the skill and care that Mauro has cultivated for his art.
The lesson was so much fun that we came back 3 days later for a second lesson before heading back the USA.
5/5 cannot recommend highly enough!

We are both experienced educators ourselves, and it was clear from the outset that Mauro is a master teacher. Mauro’s wealth of knowledge combined with his ability to clearly and effectively teach what he knows — along with his love and enthusiasm for lampworking — made the course well worth the time and price. He’s also a lot of fun to spend time with — great sense of humor. He helped us develop a solid foundation for lampworking while also showing us where our beginning skills can go with practice. It was a transformative experience for us, and we plan to continue learning from Mauro in the future as we develop our lampworking skills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We contacted Mauro on the same week of arrival and he was kind to accommodate my family at short notice.
The studio was easy to find and cosy for everyone. We began the visit with an explanation of glass, types of glass, and his story of why he chose to focus on making marine animals.
Then the magic began when he turned simple glass rods into beautiful glass creations using a flame and his tools.
Definitely recommended for those with young children as Mauro kept mine interested throughout! Just ensure you contact him prior to book your appointment as he closes the studio just for your group.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mauro answered our email promptly and scheduled a demo for us the next day. It was the best hour of our entire vacation. My 10 y/o son was absolutely entranced. Mauro was friendly and explained what he was doing quite well. His glass sculptures of sea life are stunning too, but there was no pressure to buy anything. Mauro deserves more than 5 stars!!
