Got upgraded from a lancia to a Mercedes. 5 stars

Staff were slow, rude and arrogant. We walked in at 9:30am to hire our pre- reserved and paid car, and drove out at 11:25am. We missed our 10:30am tour because of it and they didn't care. Fabiana and her colleague put in extra charges without explaining and we left angry and disappointed with the service we received. If it wasn't for the amazing experience we received at Avis Sardinia Airport (thank you Luigi for really knowing how to please a customer) we'd never hire from Avis again. If you hire here make sure you read every charge put on your contract and receive everything you pay for. Also allow extra time if your picking up the car around tours.

Unfriendly curt service, poor location and mediocre cars. To be avoided.

We returned our car at this location, and despite very helpful service from the staff of one (he helped coordinate a ride to the nearby marina), the return process is very confusing and stressful due to the office's location. The street is the main thoroughfare on the northern side of the peninsula and is only wide enough for the two lanes of cars and nothing more. There is no space to pull over and leave the car without blocking a driveway to the east or west - ultimately, we parked in front of the Hotel Girasole's driveway and hoped for the best.

Do not rent from these thief’s. One full month later I’m back in the United States and they just charged my card over $500. Complete thief’s. Beware do not rent from them. My bank ripped the money back from them then they sent me a Piece of mail stating I owed them the money.. a**holes. Also this is Avis they changed their name don’t be fooled

Horrible staff! STAY AWAY!! We rented from AVIS in Italy expecting quality service. But the Sorrento Avis office is the worst. The staff will rip you off and them openly mock you. Total bunch of jerks. Avis should close this office ASAP!!!

DO NOT RENT CARS FROM THIS COMPANY! They rented me a crashed car and after I returned it, they charged me almost extra U$500. It is impossible to contact them in order to get explanations. I had to call my card company to get my money back. This company should be closed

The unpleasantness of the experience and the associated 1 star is for the unhelpful-ness of the staff (one gentleman on the counter) and the fact that the Avis website showing car availability status and ground reality are totally unrelated. We arrived at the Sorrento Avis office, which by the way is located on a 2 way street with a small sign. Maybe they seriously had budget cuts or really hate their customers for such an inconvenient and horrible location. The other car rent companies, B Rent, Europcar are quite conveniently located in a series of shops so it makes easy to spot them and walking isnt exactly a problem. We looked up on the internet and found a car to our liking, more importantly the website showed that the car was available, so yes all the more reason to go for Avis (and btw we did have a great experience renting with Avis in Greece so we really wanted a repeat). After a bit of googling, and the associated inconvenience of looking for a store that was located quite far from the other rental agencies, we walked and reached there. Now starts the amazing experience. The gentleman at the counter simply scowled at us, seriously, its like we interrupted the much needed rest he didnt get ever since he helped paint the Sistine chapel. So yes we greet him and as rudely as possible, and thankfully without raising his voice, he asks why are we there, we show him the car available online to which he informs us that actually that car isnt available and what is indeed available is the next class. Now here comes the best part, without bothering to even explain what the charges are, very unlike Europcar and B Rent, he simply threw a number at us hoping that we will leave, unfortunately we persist and that only upset him further, short of asking us to leave he was the most stubborn, abrasive customer help desk staff member I have ever met. So yes finally we got the point and gave up and left the location. We literally scurried back to B Rent and told them we wanted their car for the next 4 days, and this was just because their agent was nice, helpful and took great pain in explaining all options to us. Thanks B Rent and Avis we, ofcourse, will go with you again but wouldnt even recommend to our enemies in Sorrento.
