A	Agrippa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Siglos I-III Como gran curiosidad, podemos encontrar muchos tesoros de la Roma antigua, en este caso los restos de estas termas, construidas en tiempos de Nerón y modificadas más adelante en tiempos de Alejandro Severo. Termas posteriores siguieron su estructura. Hoy día, buscando bien podemos ver distintos elementos que pertenecieron a las termas, insertos en la estructura urbana actual: la fuente del Senado, formada con una gran pila, posiblemente procedente del caldarium o muros formando parte del Palacio Madama y parte de algunas casas del entorno. A few steps from the Pantheon you can admire two imposing columns in gray granite of imposing dimensions ... so much is left of the extravagant Terme.built by Emperor Nero and inaugurated in 62 AD. which are supposed to have been the first with the architectural plan in the mirror.
S	Stefano Manzo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In via di Sant’Eustachio, nell’omonimo rione, si affaccia un lato della Basilica, in esso sono state rialzate due colonne monolitiche di granito rosa, “scoperte” negli scavi degli anni trenta del secolo scorso, in piazza San Luigi dei Frances, sono state ricostruite dove vi erano delle parti mancanti. Sono le ultime testimonianze delle terme di Nerone edificate intorno al 60 d.C. e restaurate nel III secolo d.C. da Alessandro Severo. Erano situate indicativamente vicino a dove è il Pantheon, altre due colonne superstiti, in migliori condizioni di queste, sono state poste nella parte sinistra (guarfando da Piazza della Rotonda) del pronao di tale edificio. Peccato che per le macchine che le sono parcheggiate davanti, non sono ben visibili nella loro interezza. NOTA: Vicino alle due colonne si trova una delle targhe in marmo bianco dette dei “MONDEZZARI” che sono presenti a Roma dove si proibisce al popolo di fare il mondezzaro del luogo dove sono apposte, un malcostume che è presente ancora ai giorni nostri. Sono tipiche del XVII – XVIII secolo e sono disseminate nei vari rioni di Roma (personalmente ne ho potute contare diverse decine). Nelle targhe era presente l’editto con il quale il Monsignore che rappresentava il “Presidente delle strade, puniva chi trasgrediva quanto indicato con pene pecuniarie /o corporali, le iscrizioni terminavano con la data nella quale era stato emanato l’editto. Nello specifico ecco il testo: SI PROIBISCE ESPRESSAMENTE A TVTTE E SINGOLE PERSONE DI QVALSIVOGLIA STATO E CONDITIONE DI FARE IL MONDEZZARO NELLA PIAZZETTA AVANTI QVESTA PORTICELLA DI S’EVSTACHIO SOTTO PENA DI SCVDI DIECI MONETA ET ALTRE PENE IN CONFORMITÀ DELL'EDITTO DI MONSIG ILLE RMO PRESIDENTE DELLE STRADE PVBLICATO IL DI XXVI MAGGIO MDCCXVII PER GL ATTI DELL’ ORSINI NOTARO DEL TRIBVNALE DELLE STRADE By way of Saint Eustace, in the homonymous district, overlooking one side of the Basilica, in it were raised two monolithic columns of pink granite, "discovered" in the excavations of the thirties of last century, in Piazza San Luigi dei Frances, were rebuilt where there were missing parts.
