S	Stefano Merici on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima Chiesa nel cuore di Milano, storica, ben tenuta, un simbolo della città come altri edifici di culto che possono sicuramente essere annoverati tra le opere d'arte presenti sul territorio. Facile da visitare, piccola per cui le visite richiedono anche poco tempo ( ma sicuramente di più se ci si vuole soffermare davanti ai quadri e altre opere presenti all'interno) , la mattina quando ci passo davanti prima del lavoro è sempre aperta ed invita ad entrare. Una " piccola" perla in pieno centro cittadino! Da vedere in assoluto è la Basilica di San Babila tra le più antiche chiese di Milano.. e la mia preferita! La basilica che dà il nome alla fermata della linea 1 e alla piazza: dedicata al culto di San Babila, un culto proveniente dal lontano oriente, la sua costruzione risale agli ultimi decenni dell’Undicesimo Secolo, a pochi metri delle mura storiche della città costruite ancora dai Romani. Racconta un’antica leggenda medievale che la scultura sia stata lasciata dagli avversari veneziani in onore al coraggio dei soldati di Milano, pare infatti che, avvisati da un panettiere, questi ultimi sventassero l’attacco della Serenissima alla città. Una versione meno eroica dice che quello fosse solo il punto di inizio della via che portava a Venezia, ma io preferisco la prima? Oggi è circondata da cantieri in costruzione e dalla frenesia della metropoli. Entrare in questo luogo sacro, silenzioso e dal vago stile romanico, di cui rimane poco o nulla, è senz’altro in esperienza emotiva notevole. All’interno della chiesa si viene avvolti dal calore delle mattonelle in cotto utilizzate nei rifacimenti successivi e dallo stile tutto Lombardo che i restauratori moderni hanno voluto dale all’edificio. Lungo le navate si possono ammirare molti affreschi di epoca ottocentesca dallo stile algido e rassicurante, tutto votato a comunicare un senso di pace e una fede che ha il suo fulcro nella consolazione e nella speranza, ma che sembra lontano anni luce dal turbinio folle e mistico del 600. G	Giancarlo Monici on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da milanese sarò passato in San Babile davvero centinaia di volte, quando ero giovane era uno dei punti di Milano dove c era un confronto politico molto acceso, era il luogo di ritrovo dei San babilini che rappresentavano la dx milanese ed era un punto di scontro tra loro e l estrema sinistra milanese, ma tornando ad oggi, li si passa quando vuoi fare un giro per la città anche se ora ci sono i lavori per la linea blu della metropolitana, e dopo anni di passaggio sono entrato nella chiesa di San Babila e devo dire che pur essendo piccola è una vera chicca da vedere. Ho scoperto un altro pezzo di Milano e della sua storia davvero incredibile, abituati sempre ad andare veloci vi perdiamo alcune parti di Milano che meritano di essere viste.
