Friendly staff, car was ready and clean, easy handling, returning car was done very fast. They didn't try to sell any unnecessary or extra insurances. Will book here again if I need a car in Salerno.

This is a most excellent car service with an extremely friendly and efficient staff. My girlfriend and I were there this summer and he helped us get a really good car immediately. We were very happy with the service there and hope to come back one day and have a chat with that friendly gentleman!

The online systems and Android app promised a lot, but seemed to have bugs and a poor user interface and experience for me. In the end I failed to get the Avis app working and gave up. The Avis pickup at Salerno was very well suited to a changeover from a train. The car was not what we had ordered but was a slightly better and adequate alternative.

Avis couldn't address any of my questions relating my recent rental in Spain. Avis Spain (Seville) charged me for some damages never happened to the car. I have dropped off the car at 6 am at the airport and dropped the keys off. At 7.30 am the Avis agent sent the receipt charging me over 300 $ for a scratch never made by me - EVER. I am not able to report this since Avis customer service is not returning my calls/hanging up in the middle of the calls and Avis customer service in Spain is not responding any of the calls at all. Never had such an experience like this with Avis in all these years. I am considering taking legal actions at this point.

This place gives new meaning to RIP OFF. And I suspect the good reviews are fake. The clerk wouldn't even sign our receipt. He claimed he didn't even work for Avis. Tried calling 24 hour customer service but no one ever answered. Avis will be hearing from me.

Renting the car was easy enough, and the staff member who rented to me was cordial. But there were a few issues that arose: First was when I tried to return the car later that evening. I had been asked to re-fill the gas tank before returning, at a gas station just down the street from the rental garage. However, when I tried to go there that evening, the gas station was closed. I didn't know the area very well, and to be honest, driving in the city was more stressful that I thought it would be so (lots of aggressive drivers) I decided to turn in the car as-is and simply asked them to take the cost for re-filling out of the deposit I had paid. (They ended up taking much more than I expected, but because I had forgotten to record the beginning and ending gas levels, I couldn't say anything about it..) The main return garage was already closed but they told me that someone would meet me to pick up the car. The older man arrived by electric scooter. He demanded additional payment, in cash, which I suppose was his own fee for coming down so late (11pm-ish) I did not have cash on me, but explained to him that I would be happy to go to the main road nearby and find an ATM. But he wouldn't have it, and rudely snatched the keys from my hands, got in the car, and drove away. But the sour cherry on top was when a few days ago, I saw two charges from Avis on my bank statement, when I had rented the vehicle from them months ago. Apparently I had driven in a restricted area of Salerno, and had received not 1, but 2 tickets just minutes apart. This baffles my mind because it's Salerno's main area with numerous cars driving around..I reached out to my then Airbnb host for help explaining the charges and she regrettably informed me that only people with a pass are allowed to drive in most parts of the city center. This is incredibly frustrating because not only had I not even parked (just driven) , but I regularly passed other cars that were parked sideways, half on the sidewalk, or in some other ludicrous fashion. And yet for some reason or another the city of Salerno has made it virtually unfriendly for foreigners to simply drive through the streets by car. At the very least, I do believe it was a huge oversight by the rental company to not mention this to me. I'm not saying they should have had to print out an entire map of where I could and could not drive, but even just mentioning that certain areas in the city center were off-limits after a certain hour if you didn't have a permit. Then at least I would've researched and avoided them.
