★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently stayed while touring Sicily. The Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel on Ortigia Island was stunning and was my favorite! The hotel and the staff were so gracious and helpful. The rooms were outstanding and spacious! The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious! Located in a great spot for exploring Ortigia! Easy to get to Syracusa. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to the restaurant only. The food was very good quality and in the fine dining category. The restaurant is in an old building that has the stone arches and painted wood ceiling of the period. The food is very good with strong Sicilian elements in the dishes and wines offered. For the pasta the chef's Norma is good, and the Sea Bass rolls with potato and pesto was very tasty. The only problem was the service which is slow, so allow 2 - 3 hours if you want all 4 courses. The bill for food only for 2 people having 4 courses was about 100 euro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. A complete delight from start to finish. Beautiful rooms, fantastic amenities, incredibly helpful staff. Amazing extra touches like a free bar, free access to bikes. My only regret is that I won't be able to come back sooner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We would love to return to this hotel. Ideal location, super comfortable accommodations, and a very, very friendly staff. Plus the best breakfast buffet we experienced during two weeks of travel throughout Sicily. Our room was small, but we were in a corner location with windows on two sides, including a sea view. This is an ideal place to stay in Ortigia, which is a wonderful place to explore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A truly lovely hotel. Charming. Clean. Traditional features. Beautiful and attentive service. Delicious and varied breakfast. The concierge Marcello was very helpful. A wonderful massage with Cecelia next door in her serene sanctuary . The sea directly opposite. I recommend the hotel and area highly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ March 2022- Booked a junior suite but was offered a musty/cobwebbed room which was later changed to a lower category room with a discount. Totally ruined the experience. Hotel was/is under renovation so be mindful that what you see on the website is not what can actually get. Scores good on staff and breakfast; scores negative on honesty!
