Pietroabbondante è un paese comunque molto bello
You go to see the Samnite amphitheater but on Mondays and Tuesdays it is closed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Al patrimonio comunale e regionale appartiene questa pregevolissima scultura del “Guerriero Sannita”, la cui copia troneggia nella piazza principale del paese. L’originale restaurato di essa, con i suoi 3 metri d’altezza e circa 8 quintali di bronzo, (ora in mostra nell’atrio del locale edificio scolastico) è stata realizzata nel 1922, in onore dei caduti della Prima Guerra Mondiale, dall’artista Giuseppe Guastalla (1867-1952), Professore del Regio Istituto Superiore di Belle Arti di Roma. La statua originale è stata già esposta presso il Museo delle Terme di Diocleziano a Roma in occasione dell’Anno dei Sanniti, ottenendo un rilevante successo d’immagine. L’imponenza e la fierezza del monumento, poi, hanno dato alla statua stessa una popolarità tale da farla assurgere a vero e proprio simbolo dell’intera Regione Molise.
This very valuable sculpture of the "Samnite Warrior", whose copy dominates the town's main square, belongs to the municipal and regional heritage. The original restored of it, with its 3 meters high and about 8 quintals of bronze (now on display in the atrium of the local school building) was built in 1922, in honor of the fallen of the First World War, from the artist Giuseppe Guastalla (1867-1952), Professor of the Royal Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Rome. The original statue has already been exhibited at the Diocletian Baths Museum in Rome on the occasion of the Year of the Samnites, obtaining a significant success in the image. The grandeur and pride of the monument, then, gave the statue itself a popularity that made it rise to a true symbol of the entire Molise region.

Auspicabile apertura estiva tutti i giorni e prolungata dell'alba al tramonto, con un panorama bellissimo. Biglietto di ingresso 4 Euro, ridotto 2,00. Necessaria apertura Museo.
Sannita Warrior can always be visited, in Piazza.Teatro and Sannitico Sanctuary, unique, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Other days: open from 10.15 to 17.15. Desirable summer opening every day and prolonged sunrise to sunset, with a beautiful view. Admission ticket 4 Euros, reduced 2.00. Museum opening necessary.
