★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In the best possible way: not for Tourists, don't come here if you don't speak Italian. Very local food, grandma makes the food in the kitchen and it's great. But as it's always with the best things in life: you want to keep it for yourself ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da Roperton is a no frills traditional trattoria in the hills in Northeast Verona. It is as good as it gets. Si puo mangiare bene! The fresh pastas are outstanding as are the meat seconds. The winelist is surprisingly extensive and features delicious regional wine from smaller producers. The owner is very hands on assuring excellent service. Coffee and a little grappa are a must.

It is very typical and provide a nice experience, but the food quality is slightly decrease

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great dinner. Older staff has charming personality and food+wine was great. At first it seems like you are walking far away, but from here you can easily walk to the viewing area and see the whole city. Also the menu is in English/German/Spanish/Italian. Seems only one of the staff speaks English, but don't let that stop you.

Much better is Ristorante Redentore: perfect service, great prices, beautiful place with view and so tasty!!!♥️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ omg... I stopped by this place in... 1999. Thanks to Google streetview, I was just making back my steps more than 20 years ago.
This restaurant was the highlight of my trip. I stopped there for lunch. I didn't speak Italian then. The owner (waiter) keep singing orders, and when I told him I wanted wine, he put a bottle in front of me and I understood I will have to pay according to what I drank (approximately...). I was hooked. I came back twice...
Pasta were handmade. Every sauces were exquisite. The ambiance worth the trip itself (great customer base). I felt Italian then, and I understood what a nice Italian life was :-)
Cant wait to go back... maybe October, when I'll go to the Opera ?!? Hope so...
