D	Domenico Luciano Moretti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La torre dei Lambertini (famiglia Guelfa) fu costruita ancor prima del palazzo di Re Enzo (che è stato quasi del tutto ricostruito nel XIX secolo) tra il 1120 e il 1142. Nel 1294 passò al Comune di Bologna e fu anche carcere femminile (1327). Agli inizi del 1900 mentre si continuava a mettere mano a Palazzo Re Enzo (e un po’ a tutto il entro di Bologna) per renderlo più medievale, anche la torre subì le “torture” del Rubbiani e divenne così come la vediamo oggi. The Lambertini tower (Guelph family) was built even before the palace of King Enzo (which was almost completely rebuilt in the nineteenth century) between 1120 and 1142. In 1294 it passed to the Municipality of Bologna and was also a women's prison (1327 ). At the beginning of the 1900s, while continuing to put hands on Palazzo Re Enzo (and a bit of it all within Bologna) to make it more medieval, the tower also suffered Rubbiani's "torture" and became as we see it today.

Stirpe bellicosa presente in molte battaglie cittadine e non solo, ebbe però tra i suoi esponenti di spicco anche Papa Benedetto XIV, cardinale Lambertini. La torre fu eretta nel 1130 ma nel 1294 il Comune l’acquista dalla famiglia per inglobarla al palazzo nuovo, cioè palazzo Re Enzo (per la cronaca Lambertino di Guido Lambertini fu uno dei cavalieri che catturarono Enzo, figlio di Federico II) Prima sede del capitano del popolo poi carcere subì modifiche ed aggiunte, oggi la vediamo ben diversa rispetto alle sembianze che aveva originariamente. A warlike lineage present in many city battles and beyond, however, Pope Benedict XIV, Cardinal Lambertini, was among its prominent exponents. The tower was erected in 1130 but in 1294 the Municipality bought it from the family to include it in the new palace, that is Palazzo Re Enzo (for the record Lambertino di Guido Lambertini was one of the knights who captured Enzo, son of Federico II) First seat of the captain of the people then prison underwent changes and additions, today we see it very different from the appearance it originally had.
