La statua di Alarico è opera di Paolo Grassino. In questo punto la leggenda narra che, nel remoto 410 d.C., il condottiero dei Goti Alarico dopo aver saccheggiato Roma ed essere morto di una febbre aggressiva, venne sepolto. Gli schiavi, che avevano lavorato alla temporanea deviazione del corso del fiume, furono uccisi perché fosse mantenuto il segreto sul luogo della sepoltura. P	Paola Sparta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nei pressi del punto di confluenza dei fiumi si trova la statua in metallo di Alarico, che rappresenta un cavallo ferito senza gambe sorretto da una struttura di cinque tubi, con il re in piedi sulla testa del suo destriero. La collocazione non è casuale: infatti, è posta nel luogo dove (secondo la leggenda) venne sepolto il re gotico con il suo tesoro. S	Semper Fidelis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nel punto esatto ove confluiscono il fiume Crati ed il Busento, nel 2016 è stata installata questa splendida scultura di Alarico, realizzata dall'artista Paolo Grassini e raffigurante un cavallo ferito, senza zampe, sorretto da tubi in ferro e sul capo, si erge in piedi lo stesso Alarico. La leggenda vuole che l'inestimabile tesoro costituto da 25 tonnellate d'oro, 150 d'argento, monete,gioielli e preziosi di ogni genere, siano stati seppelliti proprio qui insieme al corpo dello stesso Alarico ed a quello del suo fedele cavallo. In un luogo suggestivo e di rara bellezza, è consigliata una visita per apprezzare lo scenario sicuramente emozionante di quello che è uno dei centri storici più bello d'Italia, nonostante il lento ed inesorabile declino dovuto dal tempo e da amministrazioni menefreghiste che negli anni, hanno preferito lasciarlo agonizzare ed assieme ai palazzi anche i tanti cittadini che da anni combattono incuria , crolli ed indifferenza delle istituzioni.
