The church was all closed with padlocks. Not open to visitors and no info about it above. From the outside it was nice, but all these barriers ruin it.

Ora adibito a sacrario militare, fortunatamente il biglietto è compreso in quello di Palazzo Te (implicito: se non intende visitare quest'ultimo, per cui val pena, state pur certi che senza San Sebastiano non perdete alcunché). Accolti da una gentile signorina che ha fatto gesto di chiudere il cancello appena posto il piede sul primo gradino, al lazzo fiorentino: "Che? Siete chiusi?" risponde con soddisfazione: “No, ma dovete avere il biglietto di Palazzo Te per visitare." A parte il dubbio gusto di far pagare il biglietto per visitare un Sacrario, armatevene prima, se siete di quelli che si ostinano a far lavorare gestori e custodi per tener aperti le meraviglie dell'intelletto e del cuore umano e se soprattutto non siete in grado di andare a Palazzo Te e tornare indietro per mancanza di tempo o di forze. Naturalmente anche gli orari della Casa del Mantegna sono concepiti in colloquio mistico con quelli del San Sebastiano dell'Alberti: sia mai che si ceda alla grassa fenomenologia della fruizione del bene culturale e si organizzino visite congiunte dei due capolavori.
