Very interesting place to see. The fact it is over 1500 years old and still standing is incredible to me. It is not in perfect condition by any means, but you can still see the craftsmanship and fine construction. Nice square around the amphitheater as well.

Only a small portion of the original amphiteater remained in Catania, but it's worth the visit. Even though there isn't too much to see, there are a few information boards down there about the place's history. Oh and it's free and cat lovers will find there some joy as well!

Only managed to walk around the outside as it is now closed while work is going on inside. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

A must see for visitors to Catania. Entry is free and the information is plentiful. Be cool to add an additional tour down the gated off passageway for an additional charge as it would be worth it. Had to stop myself from standing in the arena and not hold my arms aloft and shout "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!"

Was a nice surprise to see this live roman amphitheater built in 300 BC in the middle of a busy street. It makes the city really charming. This is free from the top view but you can go down to the exhibits.

If you are in Catania don’t miss going to Roman amphitheater (originally built in 2nd century a.d) which is still kept in good condition. The structure is mostly made of lava stones. They replaced some of the fallen or damaged stones with a mold of plastic and lava rock.

Very nice place to visit and enjoy a walk with family or friends. We didn’t expect such a vast historical site. Do wear comfortable shoes, however and preferably not white ones as it’s very dusty and you’ll ruin them!

Google says it is β€œtemporarily closed” but that is not the case. It is currently open. I went this morning. There are some areas that are closed (I think just the indoor areasβ€”the signs say it’s for safety) but all of the outdoor areas are open and there were school groups there. Today was beautiful and sunny, and I sat in the sun looking and listening to the guide talk to one of the school groups. You can walk all around the theatre and up to the Odeum, which is adjacent. The attraction is small but lovely.
