β β β β β This is a restaurant off the city path! The restaurant is located in a quite corner of Piazza di Campitelli (Via della Tribuna di Campitelli, 18, 00186 Roma RM). Roberto was our server and he was outstanding conversationalist and very attentive and professional. We started with self selection of vast fresh seafood(s) and salad options for our anti pasta course. Prima was pasta of course and I had to order Carbonara that was perfection. My spouse ordered Red Shrimp pasta that was delicate and devoured in 10 min flat. For our second we ordered a grilled veal dressed in a balsamic glaze, that was tender.
Hands down when in Rome the food is always a delight. Vecchio Roma is a must stop, if you cone to this beautiful city even if it is just for one day.

β β β β β We wanted to celebrate our daughter's birthday when in Rome and chose this place based on suggestions and reviews. We were not disappointed.
First, the location and ambience - we really loved the location - off the busy streets but next to an historical building which really added to the charm of the place. The setup was in a piazza which was closed off and added greatly to the privacy but you can still get a view of street traffic.
Then the food. We are vegetarians - so this is from that perspective. Even though there were not too many vegetarian choices there was enough variation to order 3 different dishes between a family of 5. The Risotto was great and the Fettuccine tomato was so yummy - one of the best ever. And after eating pasta in Italy, I like al Dante better than the pasta cooked in the US.
They had things of desert options. Not too much fan of the eggy tasting sauce in the apple pie but everything else tasted good.
And I asked if they could do a birthday candle type thing for daughter and they were gracious enough to do that and I thank them for that.
The staff were very friendly, courteous and very helpful.
My only very minor gripe is wishing they could make the restaurant a smoke free place. We sat next to someone who was smoking continuously for the hour+ we were there and we all came back smelling of cigarettes smoke.

β β β β β Had a leisurely Saturday lunch with the family here. This not for the budget conscious spot was quiet and accommodating our unusual group. We had dishes that were not the paint-by-numbers dishes seen elsewhere in Rome. For a different, and memorably tasty, meal I recommend this restaurant.

β β β β β Passed by this restaurant after visiting Roma Forum and the Palatine Hill. We were very thirsty after walking many hours in the heat, and decided to sit down for a drink and maybe some food. After being shown a table, we waited for a while for the menu even 3 employee seemed free When receiving the menu, I ordered a big bottle of water. After looking at the menu, and the high prices, we decided not to eat there, so when the waiter came with some bread, I ordered some coke for the children and told him that we would only drink. He took the bread back and went inside for a short while and then came back and told us that this was a restaurant and if we wanted to drink we should go to a bar and pointed in a direction. When I wanted to pay the waiter just moved his hand as he just wanted us to go. So we went after the worst experience in any restaurant ever.

β β β β β Great taste. If you want to have a special delicious lunch, then look in here and see if their buffet can tempt. You point to what you want and the waiter at the buffet is preparing and comes with the plate. The artichoke was prepared from we pointed it out. 19.50 β¬ per time you fill the plate. We got 2 plates each for 78 β¬ + water and wine and a dessert for sharing and a coffee. Everything tasted fantastic. A very special lunch out on the street for a total of 122 β¬ for 2.

β β β β β Vecchia Roma one of the institutional places of Rome. Food is good, service is friendly. It is pricey compared to local trattorias. In the hot summer days, its outside area does not provide much relief as this street maintains the heat and there is no breeze. I prefer to sit inside and enjoy its decor.
