★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a roughly 3.5 to 4hr hike to here from camping site at Malga Ciapela, otherwise you can save about 30min by driving up to the Malga Ciapela Agriturismo on the tarred road. The hike is tiring but doable, ascent/descent of about 700m from Malga Ciapela across the Ombretta Valley up to the rifugio. Don't miss out on the newest attraction in the valley on route 610, which is the geographical centre of the Dolomites. I came in late October and the rifugio was closed, and there was a fair amount of snow on the ground, so the trail should be difficult to attempt after this period. Stunning views of the Marmolata, and some war time trenches in the valley.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed my stay at Falier. Clean. Friendly people. Slept like a baby. And great hiking advise from the chef. For the hikers that like a challenge: take the 612 up: 750m in one leg. Amazing.
