★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unfriendly owner. On my arrival he tried to sell a room for 72€, despite the fact that I booked a dormitory bed in the morning. 'You leave if you don t want it!' After begging I was able to stay in the dormitory bed for a €38. The same story from other guests!
Outside there is a sign of the CAI. I asked for a reduction because I have a Dutch mountaneering membershipcard. 'This is a private rifugio'.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent mountain refuge with friendly staff, very comfortable private rooms and nice food. Can get extremely busy at lunch, but clears out in the evenings, when you can enjoy a drink and a meal on the terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing view of Lake. Family run refugio with a long history of 3 generations. Very good cooking. Small portion but very good home cooked food. Well worth stay. It's very clean dorms for trekkers and mountain bikers. Breakfast huge and very good spread. I would definitely recommend this place to stay compared to other refugio near the road. It's quiet in the mountains and NO WiFi. Really a good retreat from the world. Staff super friendly. The owners brother is a retired trekking guide. But he loves the work to help needy souls along the trek.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Did not eat here so cannot comment on the food but the view of the Gruppo Marmolada, the friendly service and the espresso are absolutely superb. But it is very crowded on a sunny day! I am impressed with the cleanliness of the toilets despite the number of people who pass through here. The 601 hike which takes you here offers amazing views of the Gruppo Marmolada and the valley below while still being an easy and mostly flat hike for just about anybody fit to walk 2-3 hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was an ok place. After reading the excited reviews we decided to stay there while hiking the AV2 trail. The views on Marmolada ridge were beautiful. The food was good. We took a private double bed room, it was pretty cold at night. No heating was on in September. The stay was veeery expensive, the most expensive comparing to even some 3star hotels we stayed. The stuff in the Refugio was happy and pleasant.

Host and staff were fun, food was good and rooms were a much-wanted difference to all mountain huts we stayed in (very clean, own bathroom, no-cost showers etc.). Ideal in-between multi-day hike from hut to hut. Marmots and foxes greeted us upon arrival. Views on Marmolada were fantastic. We were lucky though that we were the only guests due to Corona. Might be a different experience when packed.
