Si trova a Cotevecchio, l'ultimo alpeggio sulla mulattiera che sale al Monte Massone. The refuge is owned by the C.A.I. of Gravellona Toce and has 22 beds, dining room and good kitchen. It is located in Cotevecchio, the last mountain pasture on the mule track that goes up to Monte Massone.

Lucia runs the place like a clock, very clean and tidy. Must have is the polenta with sausages. We would strongly recommend to hike from town, stay overnight and reach the top of mt massone. Un gruppo di 4 persone, siamo rimasti a dormire al rifugio. La cena (ottima la polenta con salsiccia!), il pernottamento e il pranzo sono stati memorabili. Lucia tiene il rifugio in mandria perfetta, molto pulito e molto preciso. Torneremo ancora vista la gestione We were a group of 4 that stayed overnight at the refuge and had dinner and lunch. Dinner (excellent polenta with sausage!), Overnight stay and lunch were memorable. Lucia keeps the shelter in perfect herd, very clean and very accurate. We will be back again given the management

Ottima accoglienza, panorama e buon cibo chiudono la bellissima giornata. National meeting of hiking CAI cycle. More than 50 bikers have reached the shelter and success not granted until the last km. Excellent welcome, view and good food close the beautiful day.

Torneremo a pranzo. It was the first day of opening of the summer season and the lady offered us coffee, she was smiling and being a foggy day she took care to point out to us the points to pay attention to when climbing the Monte Massone. We will come back for lunch.
L	LuZo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ RIfugio proprio sopra il paese di Cortevecchia. Noi ci siamo stati due volte con amici, a un anno di distanza. Gestione molto tranquilla e amichevole, ottimo (e abbondante) cibo. Possibilità di fare belle passeggiate (una al monte Massone con vista straordinaria sull'arco alpino a un'ora e mezza di cammino). Ma la cosa che ci ha sorpreso entrambe le volte è l'atmosfera di comunità, amicizia e disponibilità. Il rifugio è praticamente anche il bar del paese sottostante, tutti si conoscono e sono cordiali, cortesi e disponibili, c'è un'atmosfera globalmente accogliente sia da parte dei rifugisti che dagli altri avventori (quasi tutti locali), che raramente mi è capitato di trovare in vita mia. In più il cellulare prende solo dal punto panoramico a 2 minuti di distanza, quindi una vera vacanza off grid. Rifugio just above the town of Cortevecchia. We have been there twice with friends, a year later. Very quiet and friendly management, excellent (and abundant) food. Possibility to go for beautiful walks (one to Mount Massone with an extraordinary view of the Alps at an hour and a half walk). But the thing that surprised us both times is the atmosphere of community, friendship and availability. The refuge is practically also the bar of the village below, everyone knows each other and they are friendly, courteous and helpful, there is a globally welcoming atmosphere both by the refugees and by the other patrons (almost all locals), which rarely happened to me to find in my life. In addition, the mobile phone takes only from the vantage point 2 minutes away, so a real holiday off grid.

M	Mirko Rovaletti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo rifugio raggiungibile facilmente a piedi seguendo la strada (privata) che parte dal santuario del Boden (appena sopra Ormavasso) si può percorrere tranquillamente a piedi o in bicicletta. Abbiamo pranzato all’aperto previa prenotazione, personale super gentile ed accogliente, menù classico per un rifugio e prezzi veramente veramente bassi per un rifugio. Cucina ottima anche i dolci preparati da loro perfetti! Che dire, per chi abbia voglia di una bella passeggiata, tutta la fatica sarà ricompensata non appena vi siederete ai tavoli di questo fantastico rifugio! This beautiful refuge can be easily reached on foot following the (private) road that starts from the Boden sanctuary (just above Ormavasso) and can be easily explored on foot or by bicycle. We had lunch outdoors upon reservation, super friendly and welcoming staff, a classic menu for a refuge and really low prices for a refuge. Excellent cuisine even the desserts prepared by them perfect! What can I say, for those who want a nice walk, all the effort will be rewarded as soon as you sit at the tables of this fantastic refuge!
