★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to relax beside lago Maggiore. Has great selection of bars and restaurants. There is even a sushi restaurant which obviously is always crowded. Every weekend I visit this place to grab some seafood lunch. There is a funivia to the top of the mountain where there is a restaurant and you can have your romantic dinner with an amazing overlooking view. If you love to ride your motorcycle, this is a place where the motorcycle riders gather so it can also get a bit noisy. A train is available directly here and there is the intra transit which is a ferry so you can go to stressa, the other side of the lake. There is a large play park for the kids near the parking lot and also there is a big free parking here near the back part of the road on the way to cerro. I have not seen a public wc in this place so usually you can purchase something at a bar and use it there instead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited friends in varesse in early spring and visited several amazing places and this was our favourite. The atmosphere here is so relaxed and calming. We got the ferry over and were overwhelmed by the beauty of the place and took so many photos. We did not want to leave.
