Testimonia la crescita del borgo sotto la protezione della nobile famiglia Tinelli. Qui Garibaldi tenne un discorso nel 1862 dal balcone della Villa Frua. Nelle vie d'intorno si possono scoprire scorci di un fascino antico. Il nome del nucleo era Contrada di Villa.
It is the heart of the oldest part of Laveno and preserves, almost intact, the eighteenth-century appearance of narrow streets and courtyards. It shows the growth of the village under the protection of the noble Tinelli family. Here Garibaldi gave a speech in 1862 from the balcony of the Villa Frua. In the streets around you can discover glimpses of an ancient charm. The name of the nucleus was Contrada di Villa.

Oggi acqua non più potabile, fino ai primi anni '60 del secolo scorso l'acqua era potabile ed era in estate, per chi non aveva ancora in casa il frigorifero, fonte di rifornimento per la freschezza dell'acqua che scendeva dalla vecchia fontana.
Old fountain fed by a spring from the mountain behind it. Today water is no longer drinkable, until the early 60s of the last century the water was drinkable and it was in summer, for those who did not yet have a refrigerator at home, a source of supply for the freshness of the water that came down from the old fountain.
