Located on the corner of Via Etnea with Piazza Dell'Università, it has an entrance facing the upper part of the square. Built in 1743, in Sicilian Baroque style, probably designed by architect Gian Battista Vaccarini. It was originally the family residence of Duke Gioeni d'Angiò. The beautifully decorated main entrance, made of white stone, stands out on the beautiful facade. Next to it has been added later, a beautiful bronze statue of the sculptor Mario Rutelli, in memory of Duke Gioeni. His rooms have hosted celebrities, including German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, during his visit to Catania.
