★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know, maybe it is just one of many touristic places in Matera, I had no local to give me a hidden hint. But if this is a typical tourist trap here, than all major Italian cities should come for a lesson. Amazing quality food, very smart and carefully selected menu, great plating, awesome service. All in one a great place to make a break and enjoy some special taste. Looking forward to coming back again some day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food that's typical for the region. Friendly and speedy service. Very economical prices. Amazing view of the sassi and Skyline, especially at night. Make sure to reserve ahead and get a table out on the terrace. Try the mashed beans or one of the pasta dishes with black chickpeas. We paid €40 for 2 starters, 2 mains water and half a liter of the local red wine. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious and unique food with all local ingredients. There were 4 of us who ordered different primi courses. We competed for whose was best and, of course no one won because we only would vote for our own! Service was prompt and helpful with answering questions and offering suggestions. Will definitely eat there again when next in Matera!

You will experience here what does "matera cuisine" mean.
It is a mix o ancient typical flavors (must try: crapiata, fave e cicorie, tette delle monache) with a modern taste served by a very experienced and enthusiastic cook (must try: ricotta cheese, eggplants and pork knuckle).
From starters to desserts, you will be guided through a journey, not just served with the meal you will order.
Cherry on top: waiters and cooks make you feel confortable as you are seated at home and happy as you are their best client ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This food was amazing! Tasted very high quality and authentic. We’ve been in southern Italy for a week and this was one of the best meals we’ve had. We went for lunch and ordered the tasting menu of the appetizers, a pasta, sausage, and the house white wine. The staff was friendly and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you find yourself looking for a place to eat great food and like staff that you can make conversation with, look no further. The sheer amount of hospitality alone is enough to visit this restaurant. The food itself is also impeccable, very natural and balanced in taste, if you want authenticity without paying too much at a Michelin then you find it here. Hope this review is reflected in your own experience, but i doubt it won't!

Very gentle flavors but super specific, tasty, fresh and locally.
I mostly recommend about MateraMì Tasting as appetizers.
