The entrance to the National Museum of Palazzo Venecia is included in the ticket to the Altare Dr la Patria. More than the items displayed in the museum, I found interesting the building itself, the beautiful atrium and nice ornamental ceilings with chandeliers.

This museum can be visited in the Roma city pass. This in near the capitoline hill and in the piazza venezia square. There is not much of collection but whatever is available is very well presented. The hall with ancient type of painting is huge but requires us to read or hear about it. Knight’s armory collection is good

I lover this museum, its not that big, but has a lot to show. Formerly the residence for cardinals, the seat for the Austrian ambassador to the Vatican, office of Benito Mussolini...and now a beautiful National Museum ?? P.S. In late 2010, the secret bunker of Mussolini was found beneath the building. Note: no elevator for a stroller (you’ll need to care the stroller up to the 2rd floor) Note2: free entrance every first Sunday of the month (as well as other municipal museums)

I personally found this museum okay, but it by far didn't belong to my favourite sights. We had access to it as it was part of another sight but I wouldn't recommend spending 10 euros just for this. Some parts are interesting but audio guide and signs are only revealing semi interesting information. If you're short on time, skip this one!

The Information was not very helpful, We waited nearly an hour for entrance, which included a grouped Tour which was only in Italian. The rooms were mostly empty and boring. Best thing about it was that we didnt have to pay because of the Tickets from the elevator of the Monument. Waste of time.

Don't bother getting a guided tour here. They should call it a guarded tour instead. They basically herd everyone into rooms for a few minutes each then rush everyone to the next room, zero info given. You're not even really allowed to look at the beautiful objects because they just tell everyone to move into the next room. Pity because its a good collection in lovely rooms. You learn more from Wikipedia than the guides who act like they hate their jobs. Save your money and just check out the wonderful chapel and garden which are free.

From start to finish a bad experience. It starts with the confusing situation at the entrance, there is no information in English and the staff is annoyed when asked about information. You can’t visit the sparse exhibition , mostly just empty rooms ,(where there is a lot of stuff just laying around) on your own but rather have to wait for 1/2 hours and have to listen to a guide who speaks only Italian for 45 minutes straight. Total waste of time! Trust me and spend your time elsewhere. The only good thing is the freely accessible garden.

I’m sorry to give it a low rating, but they have created an experience that it not 5 stars for visitors. I visited on a Saturday at 4pm, and they require you to have a guided experience but only offer it in Italian. This was okay for me, but it’s absurd that a huge museum in Rome on a Saturday would only allow and require Italian guided tours. Self guided tours were not allowed. Also, there are no signs at the ticket booth with information, you must ask for any information or details you’d like. The tour starts in the garden, but there are again no signs or declarations of what will happen and when. The tour guide basically rushes you through the palace and museum with no time to stop and look. This is not an exaggeration, but we were walked through the museum part and not allowed to stop and look at the art that was inside. So many nice pieces were inside, but you are not allowed to stop and look them, and that is absurd ? Also, at the beginning we asked where the bathrooms were. They told us that the bathrooms were inside. So we proceeded to have our visit and were rushed through everything and at the end we asked where the bathrooms were and they told us that they were sorry but that the bathrooms were somewhere inside but it was too late now so we’d have to leave the premises to use the bathroom. Also, for such an important and critical place to the fascist period of italy, there was little to almost nothing about this. There was a sign in a room that said the fascist government began and ended there, but nothing else at all. The people were kind, but a place of such significance has so many things to improve just to provide simple services and experiences. A recommendation, they could guide people through the palace portion and then allow them to enjoy the museum part at their own pace. Thankfully the ticket includes the elevator to the top of the Altar of the Fatherland!
