Se visitate Sabbioneta non potete mancare alla visita di questo concentrato di storia della città.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bel museo allestito nell'antico Palazzo Arcipetrale di Sabbioneta.
Il reperto più interessante che si può ammirare è il Toson d'Oro, massima onorificenza della corona spagnola ottenuta da Vespasiano Gonzaga nel 1585. Oltre a questo sono conservati diversi dipinti (tra cui spicca un "Trionfo della Morte" della metà del XVII secolo) altari, paramenti sacri, ostensori, croci, calici, messali e statue policrome dal Cinquecento all'Ottocento.
Da vedere!
Beautiful museum set up in the ancient Archpetral Palace of Sabbioneta.
The most interesting exhibit that can be admired is the Toson d'Oro, the highest honor of the Spanish crown obtained by Vespasiano Gonzaga in 1585. In addition to this, several paintings (including a "Triumph of Death" from the mid-seventeenth century) are preserved. altars, sacred vestments, monstrances, crosses, chalices, missals and polychrome statues from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.

È l'unico posto, credo al di fuori della Spagna, in cui potete ammirare l'onorificenza del Toson D'oro.
Questo piccolo simbolo veniva concesso dall'impetatore ai dignitari più intimi e valorosi e consentiva, a chi lo possedeva, di non togliersi il berretto alla presenza delle maestà imperiali.
Era di proprietà della corona e ad essa andava restituito dopo la morte del possessore.
Solo a Vespasiano, in base ai suoi particolari meriti, venne concesso di essere sepolto con esso.
Il ritro vamento della salma, avvenuto casualmente pochi decenni orsono, ci consente oggi di ammirarlo.
