★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho visitato il MAT Museo Archeologico di Taurasi sia in autonomia che con la preziosa guida dell'Architetto Giovanni Caspariello, che ringrazio immensamente, in quanto si è reso disponibile nonostante fosse domenica ed i ragazzi incaricati delle visite guidate avessero giá terminato il turno. Il MAT é all'interno del palazzo del comune di Taurasi, il quale a sua volta occupa un antico convento domenicano, passato alla municipalità durante la dominazione Napoleonica e che dopo un periodo in cui vi dimoravano i frati francescani (vedi foto vasca in pietra), tornò al comune. Una mappa del territorio cittadino mostra i luoghi dei ritrovamenti archeologici delle varie epoche, dalle più antiche (5000 a.C. eneolitico vari oggetti in ceramica ed un pugnale in ferro) al medioevo con i resti di una sepoltura di un cavaliere longobardo con il suo cavallo e una croce greca in oro, visibile in teca (vedi foto) con lente di ingrandimento. Il museo molto interessante manca di alcuni reperti che negli anni sono stati distribuiti in diversi musei come le monete dei goti. In una camera insieme ai reperti catalogati da esporre, ci sono le due campane di una chiesa ormai distrutta del centro storico.
I visited the Archaeological Museum of MAT Taurasi both independently and with the valuable help of the architect Giovanni Caspariello, I thank him immensely, as it is made available even though it was Sunday, and the guys in charge of the tours they had already completed the turn. The MAT is inside the palace of the town of Taurasi, who in turn is housed in a former Dominican convent passed to the city during the Napoleonic domination and that after a period in which the Franciscan friars lived there (see photo stone bath) , he returned to the town. A map of the city area shows the locations of archaeological finds of different ages, from the oldest (5000 BC neolithic various ceramic objects and a dagger in iron) to the Middle Ages with the remains of a burial of a Lombard knight with his horse and a Greek cross in gold, glass case visible (see photo) with a magnifying glass. The museum lacks some very interesting findings that over the years have been distributed in several museums such as the coins of the Goths. In a room with the artifacts cataloged to be displayed, there are two bells of a now destroyed church of the Old Town.
