S	S U on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il monumento è su un basamento circondato da scale ed è costituito da una torre con bassorilievi e una scultura bronzea che raffigura un fante, posizionato in un podio con ai piedi una corona bronzea. La composizione ha come sfondo arco gotico e, al di sopra delle truppe, i tre ceri eugubini; in sommità lo stemma della città di Gubbio e dei suoi quartieri. In basso uno scudo recante lo stemma della città e dei quartieri, al centro della corona vi è una targa con iscrizione, sul fronte opposto un’analoga lastra riproducente il Bollettino della Vittoria. Nel dicembre del 1918 una delibera del Consiglio comunale decide per la realizzazione di un monumento ai caduti da affidare allo scultore Ubaldo Pizzichelli. Dopo vicissitudini e la consegna di tre bozzetti, il Pizzichelli viene sostituito nella realizzazione dell'opera da Enrico Cagianelli che nel 1923 ottiene di poter cominciare a scolpire nei locali dell'ex refettorio di San Pietro. Il monumento viene inaugurato nel maggio del 1924, alla presenza del Re. The monument is on a base surrounded by stairs and consists of a tower with bas-reliefs and a bronze sculpture depicting an infantryman, positioned in a podium with a bronze crown at the foot. The composition has as a background a Gothic arch and, above the troops, the three Gubbio candles; at the top the coat of arms of the city of Gubbio and its neighborhoods. At the bottom a shield bearing the coat of arms of the city and the neighborhoods, in the center of the crown there is a plaque with an inscription, on the opposite side a similar plate reproducing the Victory Bulletin. In December 1918 a resolution of the City Council decides for the construction of a war memorial to be entrusted to the sculptor Ubaldo Pizzichelli. After vicissitudes and the delivery of three sketches, Pizzichelli is replaced in the realization of the work by Enrico Cagianelli who in 1923 gets to be able to start sculpting in the premises of the former refectory of San Pietro. The monument was inaugurated in May 1924, in the presence of the King.
