Before I say anything else, let me start off by saying that the leather jackets here are top-notch, I will give him that. We bought 2 of them and they are high quality. I cannot say the same for the 30 euro leather belt that I bought from him and that he shortened for me. It fell apart after about 3 uses. I may post a picture of it on here later. And before he comes on here and complains that I have the wrong shop, or am lying, I have attached a couple of pics of one of his leather jackets. Now to the real reason why he only gets 2 stars. When he is selling you something, of course he comes of as "charming", "friendly" and "knowledgeable" . However, the real test of character comes when problems arise. I was not happy with the fact that he lied to me about how much he could sell me the jackets. I ran into another customer that I had seen at Michelangelo's shop later that day, and he told me had bought his jacket for 10 euros cheaper than mine. I ended up later that day also going to the Scuola del Cuoio (School of Leather) in Santa Croce and found a much nicer leather jacket for myself there and bought it. At the School of Leather, they included free alterations of the jacket sleeves for those of us who are not very tall ;). Furthermore, you get the VAT refund at the airport, so in the end, the jacket I bought at the school ended being about 50 euros cheaper than at Michelangelo's. When I came back to try and return the jacket, initially Michelangelo said ok, but then as I was actually trying to get a firm commitment from him to take the jacket back, he flat out refused and got confrontational with me. His demeanor totally changed and you could see his true colors. Unfortunately, there were no other customers there at the time to witness Michelangelo get aggressive and unprofessional. You also have to wonder why Michelangelo doesn't really give you a receipt after you make such an expensive purchase. I believe it has to do with him being able to do some "creative accounting" and dodging having to pay income taxes from the Italian tax authorities. I left there disgusted with Michelangelo, and had an extra Florentine leather jacket from Michelangelo that I ended up selling on eBay. So, my advice is to be ABSOLUTELY sure that you want to buy a leather jacket from him, but visit other places like Scuola del Cuoio first, and comparison shop. That way you don't have to deal with a real jerk like I had to. Happy Firenze leather jacket shopping everyone!

Authentic Italian leather, top quality products and excellent service from Michelangelo. He was very patient as we were trying on a lot of jackets. He gave us really good tips on how to take care of the jacket and explained how to distinguish the quality of the leather. In addition, he treated us really good and share some insights about italian lifestyle. 100% recommended

Definitely come here to see the jackets! We stopped in a number of stores before coming to Michelangelo - both store fronts and the street vendors. The jackets here are both higer quality and better priced than any others we saw - even better priced than many of the lower quality jackets sold on the street! Michelangelo is incredibly kind, helpful, and passionate about his work. Couldn't be happier with what we got.

What a lovely shopping experience. We were looking for luggage and we found a beautiful piece in Michelangelo's shop. He was a pleasure to deal with, so friendly and he explained all about his business and the item. Be sure to check that you are visiting the correct place as he only has one shop. His shop is full of gorgeous pieces and I would highly recommend a visit!

Michaelangelo has some of the best leather goods you can find in Florence! His jackets are beautiful with some of the best dyes I've seen. I stop here every time I'm in the country and I can't resist picking up a new jacket when I'm there. All are the best of quality you can find. And he himself is wonderful! Incredibly helpful and attentive, he's a man who knows his trade better than any I've met. I've had jackets that needed repairing and were done faster and better than any other store I know. This is a definite must stop if you are ever in the location. I have a hard time not going by more than once! On every trip. Thank you so much for all your work!!
