★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware, if you're using Google maps the river has dried up in most places. For the last mile you'll need to rely on reading the visible road signs and maps.
Don't stop yet with your car but keep on going in the general eastern direction you will hit dirt roads until you get to a parking area with wooden barriers - if you don't see the parking area keep persevering esp if you don't mind the bumpy road.
Once parked you'll see a map so you then need to keep on walking for about 10 minutes till you get to what's left of the river but it's clear and there are still some good spots.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To get here follow the signs - when you reach a car park next to the concession stand - head straight over the ford if the water is low enough and drive to the next car park. Very popular spot. My kids loved the water and it is a basic site but fun. Makes a change from hill towns!
