★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poco prima del Porto Labieno, dietro il lungolago di Laveno ( Viale De Angeli) , ci sono alcuni vicoli che sono rimasti com'erano 300 anni fa quando i pescatori vivevano lì: anticamente chiamata Contrada del Mal Cantone o semplicemente del Cantone, è via Marsala e Vicolo Cantone, con alcuni gradini che portano al lago. Una casa mostra sopra la porta l'anno di costruzione (o di ristrutturazione): 1739! Il nome Mal Cantone probabilmente deriva dagli angusti vicoli e dalla, relativa, difficoltà di accesso ovvero dal fatto che fosse malfamato.
Just before Porto Labieno, behind the lakeside of Laveno (Viale De Angeli), there are some alleys that remained as they were 300 years ago when the fishermen lived there: in ancient times called Contrada del Mal Cantone or simply del Cantone, it is via Marsala and Vicolo Cantone, with some steps leading to the lake. A house shows the year of construction (or renovation) above the door: 1739! The name Mal Cantone probably derives from the narrow alleys and the relative difficulty of access or from the fact that it was infamous.
