★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nella piazza del comune, proprio difronte al Tempio di Minerva, vi è qest'opera laica ed enigmatica del 1500. Per 4 fiorini l'artista dipinse questo portico con immagini insolite per l'epoca in quanto si ispirò probabilmente agli affreschi delle ville romane come la Domus Aurea di Nerone miscelando il tutto con episodi di vita Assisana.
In the town square, right in front of the Temple of Minerva, there is this secular and enigmatic work of the 1500s. For 4 florins the artist painted this portico with unusual images for the time as it was probably inspired by the frescoes of the Roman villas such as Nero's Domus Aurea mixing everything with episodes of Assisana life.

Essa è parte del Palazzo dei Priori ed è una volta a botte riccamente affrescata eseguita nel 1556, , su mandato del governatore senese Marcello Tuto la volta ha decorazione a figure grottesche di carattere umoristico non si conosce purtroppo il nome dell’artista.
The "Volta Pinta" in Piazza del Comune is considered the most important work of Assisi but also the most enigmatic.
It is part of the Palazzo dei Priori and is a richly frescoed barrel vault executed in 1556, on the mandate of the Sienese governor Marcello Tuto the vault has decoration with grotesque humorous figures, the artist's name is unfortunately unknown.
