★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Classic 1st Century Roman (NOT Greek) facade is almost all that remains of what was a beautiful temple. Don't miss the original temple floor tiles on both sides of the altar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The temple of Minerva was repurposed - like so many other Roman buildings that survived - into a Christian church. The columns from the old temple form the church's portico. The inside is typical baroque - probably rather good if you like that sort of thing. Its nice to see the parts of the old temple that are still standing being put to good use.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I walked past this building several times without knowing what it was, until I entered one fine morning to take a peek. The exterior was an ancient Roman style, whilst the interior was Baroque. Inside with just an altar and several rows of short pews. I later learnt that the church was built over the former Temple of Minerva (hence the name and different styles). Entrance to this church is free and photography is allowed, unlike most churches in Assisi.
