In piazza del Vescovado, fu cuore della cittadella vescovile medievale e centro del potere religioso. Qui venne battezzato San Francesco, ed anni più avanti il Santo si tolse le ricche vesti davanti al padre Pietro di Bernardone per indossare il saio dei poveri. Non si sa ancora se questo avvenne davanti alla chiesa o all’interno del vescovado, dove si trova proprio la sala della Spogliazione, o addirittura nel chiostro del palazzo. Ad oggi ospita le spoglie del giovane Beato Carlo Acutis. Vicinissimo a Santa Chiara, raggiungibile a piedi sia da lì che dal centro in generale. Very suggestive place, like everything in Assisi. This was a pivotal moment in Francis's conversion and began his life as a 'penitent' in a sort of religious state. Be sure to visit both the church, Mary Major, in the pastoral care of the Capuchin friars, and the room of the renunciation itself within the structure of the bishop's residence.

Considered today the Angel of the Youth, patron of the technology. Whoever can please do watch, read, do a research about this amazing child that gave his life in love to Our Lord Jesus Christ. It was the happiest day of my life visiting this place. Venerable Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
