Non siamo molto bravi a cogliere la bellezza dell,arte ma ci limitiamo a godere di questa meraviglia.
 Visited on a weekday morning. Peace, silence and a desire for meditation.
We are not very good at grasping the beauty of art but we limit ourselves to enjoying this wonder.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Siamo entrati di domenica mattina durante la Santa Messa, per non disturbare non si può visitare. Torneremo in un giorno feriale, perché è molto bella ed ha anche una cripta sottostante.
We entered on Sunday morning during the Holy Mass, so as not to disturb it cannot be visited. We will be back on a weekday, as it is very beautiful and even has a crypt below.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Percorrendo le strette vie di Ivrea si giunge sulla sommità del colle su cui sorgono il castello sabaudo e la cattedrale. L'edificio del Duomo risale al secolo XI ed ampliato nei secoli successivi. All'interno interessante è il deambulatorio e il coro e la sottostante cripta. La parte più antica è dedicata a San Besso con i sarcofago e la più recente a San Gaudenzio (secolo XII-XIII). Diversi affreschi sono ancora visibili tra cui lo stesso San Gaudenzio e una Vergine con bambino attribuita a Giacomino da Ivrea del secolo XV.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bella cattedrale nella parte alta di Ivrea, vicino al castello. Facilmente raggiungibile con una breve passeggiata. All'interno una navata ed un altare imponente, oltre ad antichi affreschi ben conservati.
Beautiful cathedral in the upper part of Ivrea, near the castle. Easily accessible with a short walk. Inside there is a nave and an imposing altar, as well as well-preserved ancient frescoes.
