If you only have time to see one sight in Milan, the Duomo should be it. Milan's Duomo is considered the largest and most unique Gothic complex in all of Italy, having taken about a half a millennium to build. And once you've spent some time at the Duomo, it's easy to see why it's considered a masterpiece. The Duomo displays an inordinate amount of impressive architectural details both in and outside of its walls. The exterior is dotted with thousands of intricately-carved statues (2,300 to be exact) depicting both religious figures and stories from the Bible, including Jesus' crucifixion. And its interiors are even more intricate. Inside you'll find a thousand more statues, sky-high marble columns, gilded ceilings, striking stained glass windows and loads of paintings scattered throughout. The detail even goes all the way down to the floors, where you'll find geometric-patterned marble lined throughout, and so much more. Go and see it if you can.

What an unbelievably iconic and beautiful area. The nice thing about visiting Milano is that most landmarks are clustered. Very well maintained and tourist-friendly

The Cathedral Church of Milan -- freshly cleaned outside needs the same treatment inside. That said, the stained glass windows done in the 19th century (painted, not 'glassed') are spectacular. Work you way around the sanctuary to see them -- if you're blessed with a sunny day. Can you sort out the 3,400 +/- statues and several thousand windows? No. Instead watch your own reactions for inspiration and divinity.

Extremely beautiful, spectacular and impressive cathedral! I was truly amazed to see it from the inside. It totally worth visiting! You can purchase tickets from the building across the street on the right side. There is normal tickets or with climbing up the towers included. The waiting line wasn't that long but probably it depends on the month. I was there in February and got inside really quickly.

Absolutely incredible! Hard to believe the detail and construction! Photos can never do it justice what you see and feel in person! We did all 3 locations. Under the church, inside and the roof tour. If in Milan you must see this in person.

The Duomo was incredible!! One of the best places I've seen in years!!! It's a definite"go to." The stain glass is amazing. The intricate details on the stone work is not to be missed.
