Hotel alle Guglie

Despite clean & sizable rooms, decent proximity to the city center and easy accessibility to the airport, the management at Hotel Alle Guglie ruined our stay. The managerial staff publicly condemned us for finishing our takeaway sandwiches in the hotel common area. Although we immediately apologized for the misunderstanding, the manager continued ridiculing us for bad manners, claiming the area was not allowed to be used by "cheap reservations". We were again heckled by the same staff during check out with regards to the city tax, which seemingly doubled in price from what we were initially told by another staff member during check in. When asking for an explanation, the managerial staff was demeaning and refused to take credit card, forcing us to get additional cash from the ATM down the street. The poor customer service was unfortunate because there was a lot of potential for a great stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. It was a very nice hotel. The room itself was not too big, but for Venice that's quite common. The bathroom with shower was modern and working very well. The location of the hotel is a bit further away from the busy San Marco Square, but that also meant there was little to no noise from the outside. It's located in a street with many souvenir shops and restaurants which also makes it feel a safe environment. In Venice everything is doable by walking or just taking the vaporetto (tip: take the multi day pass for the vaporetto!). Walking to the train station was around 10 minutes. Walking to Rialto Bridge is 15-20 minutes. In short, great experience!

The place to stay in Venice! This recently renovated hotel is located on walking distance from the “entrance” of Venice. We received a warm welcome from Daniele and Matteo when we arrived without reservation, as we spontaneously decided to visit Venice on our road trip. They were so kind, showed us around and Daniele gave us great hotspots for during our 24h stay. Furthermore the hotel is very clean, nicely decorated and offers a good breakfast. The room price is very good in comparison with the quality of the rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfect location. We got great tips and suggestions from the staff. The room was very basic. It was the triple bed one, but I'm not sure if it fits 3 persons. You may not be able to lock the bathroom doors (in room and down in lobby) but not too bad. The bed was comfy and it had good AC.

Excellent hotel close to the train station and on the main street which is very convenient. The rest is at walking distance. The staff is very polite. My room was small but the bed was big and comfortable which is more important to me. Quiet, clean and beautiful design of the rooms and bathrooms. If you need more space you have take a superior room. I would come back.

Great place to stay, really close to everything you could want, plenty of restaurants nearby, and a water taxi 3 min walk away if you wanted an easy way back.

Worst experience ever! Unprofessional staffs and old hotel. (Francesca and Daniele) We visited Venice to celebrate our wedding anniversary and booked this hotel 1 month in advance through their website. The photos looked amazing on their website as well as on booking.com so we decided to book the hotel for 3 nights. As soon as we arrived in the location, we were shocked to see that the building was completely different from how they showcased on their website. The hotel reception was closed and they were sharing reception with Hotel Arcadia opposite to this hotel. Hotel Alle Guglie was undergoing maintenance and the whole building was covered with scaffolding and construction materials, which they never informed us in advance. We requested for wedding anniversary decoration and no special arrangements were made. We entered the hotel and realized that our room is on the 3rd floor and there were no elevators. We had to climb the stairs with 4 suitcases and there was no one to help us and it was a terrible experience especially after a long journey. As soon as we checked in to the room, we realized that the room was too small with a tiny little washroom and a small bed. I immediately called the reception to check if we can move to a bigger room and the staff was quite rude. Our call was answered by a lady called Francesca, she said the hotel is fully booked and there are no other rooms available. She was so rude that she said this is what you get for this cost, you either take it or vacate the room. We were shocked to hear such an inappropriate and unprofessional response from the staff. She even asked us to vacate the room on the same day. I'm not sure what provoked her and there was another guy called Daniele and he was also rude to us during the check-in time. It was too late for us to change the hotel as it was a weekend and the hotels nearby were too expensive. Hence we were forced to continue our stay in the same hotel. Francesca and Daniele screwed up our trip. It was indeed a terrible experience. Please stay away from this hotel .

Fantastic location, 10 mins walk from bus and train station . Lovely updated room and bathroom, which are very comfortable with a great bed. The shower cubicle is very small but the shower is powerful. There were lots of stairs but that didn't bother us. Reason that I have taken a star away is because the hotel is Currently covered in scaffolding and netting which affects the natural light in the bedroom. Other than that it was perfect. Just contact hotel first to ask about that. The restaurants along the canal by the hotel are all excellent. I recommend.
