The fountain of the Lions at the center of the square replaces the sixteenth century fountain (dismantled and then reassembled on Piazza Nicosia) and is built around the obelisk Sistine: the four corners of the basement steps, Valadier ranks of the round tubs with travertine above which, on trunks of pyramid, also in steps, are places of white marble lions in Egyptian style, from whose mouths wide fans gush of water.
