Cała wędrówka tam i z powrotem zajęła nam 6h. Widoki fenomenalne. Sam krater również fenomenalny. Zdecydowany must have i da się go zdobyć za darmo. Ogólnie super przygoda i zdecydowanie polecam tutaj wejść. Zdecydowanie polecam wziąć okrycie głowy, uszu i szyi, bo strasznie wieje. Odradzam niskie buty ponieważ co chwilę będziecie wyciągać malutkie kamienie i pył. Wędrówka stanie się wtedy uciążliwa i nieprzyjemna. Na dolnej stacji jest wypożaczalnia obuwia za 5e. Zdecydowanie polecam.
We went to the top of the Barbagallo crater. We planned to get it all the way from the parking lot on foot, but in the end we decided to cover the first stretch with a lift (24e / person). As it turned out later, it was a good solution. The whole hike back and forth took us 6 hours. We were very tired. We started at 9:30. We went down at 3:30 pm. If we did not use the lift, the whole thing would take 2-2.5 hours more and we could not do it anymore. I recommend entering Barbagallo from the Torre de Filosopho side. Getting there is pleasant and light. We were entering from the south, the slope was 30-40 degrees. We didn't know it at the time, but we made it. Phenomenal views. The crater itself is also phenomenal. A definite must have and you can get it for free. Overall a great adventure and I definitely recommend going here. We did not decide to go to the top of Mount Etna because the ascent above 3000m was closed due to volcanic activity. At the bottom 30 degrees C, at 3000 m above sea level we had 12 degrees C. We did not have any specialized equipment, only long pants and 2x sweatshirt. At the end of September, it did it. I definitely recommend wearing head, ear and neck coverings as it blows terribly. I advise against low shoes because you will be pulling out tiny stones and dust all the time. The hike will then become strenuous and unpleasant. There is a shoe store for 5e at the bottom station. I definitely recommend it.

Siamo a quota 2900 metri. Ultimo punto raggiungibile in autonomia senza guida.
We are at an altitude of 2900 meters. Last point reachable independently without a guide. The path from Rifugio Sapienza is all uphill, in some places the rocks and the lava scree do not help. The view from the craters is wonderful, we are in the presence of the new mouth of the "muntagna" and if you are lucky enough to catch it "in motion", when the wind calms down you can also hear the sound of smoke coming up from the belly. Trekking shoes and water are required: the walking itinerary is highly recommended if you have good legs and breath, as it is about 14 km round trip and is challenging. To keep in mind the travel time, because if you do not have a good workout it risks becoming infinite.

One of the highest points you can go without a guided tour. You can get there by 4x4 bus or on foot. Nice craters. Worth visiting.

It's a must to be able to visit a place like this for me anyway. Not difficult walking at the top. Be aware you will pay for the cable car. If you was to go on you can walk or pay for the bus to take you and it comes with a guide who takes you around and which also comes at a price. It does mount up but it's worth it. Oh and pick your day, it can be cloudy.
