Almost hidden, I was absorbed in seeing Rome awakened from a long sleep ... I heard African songs coming from a courtyard ... exciting!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa che esternamente si presenta sicuramente in maniera anonima, senza gli sfarzi o i dettagli architettonici che contraddistinguono tutte le chiese storiche di maggiore importanza qui a Roma. Ristrutturata comunque in maniera impeccabile, situata vicino a diversi scavi archeologici di notevole importanza, vale sicuramente una visita per le opere presenti all'interno.
Church that externally surely presents itself anonymously, without the glitz or architectural details that distinguish all the historical churches of major importance here in Rome. However impeccably renovated, located near several archaeological excavations of considerable importance, it is certainly worth a visit for the works inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The church is used by a Nigerian expatriate community, and Mass in English has been celebrated on Sundays at 10:00.
The church is otherwise seldom open, but is worth visiting. It contains work by Bernini, and the relics of St Polycarp. Impressive frescoes. Unfortunately the adjacent monastery is due to close down in the near future, and this will affect the future of the church because the superior is also the priest-in-charge.
