★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled on this church when looking for a “Palatine Hill ticket office without the queues” that some people on the internet incorrectly led us to expect. A tour guide emerged from the church promising a free 30 min tour of the church and gardens. Very interesting and great views of Palatine Hill and Colosseum from the garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First, don't take the Google maps route as that is the gate to the Palentine hill. Take the path that leads to the arch of Titus and go left at the arch up the hill. The church is historically significant and the gardens are a surprise so close to the Colosseum and crowds. The small, voluntary donation is certainly worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a beautiful church. We were so happy to stumble upon it when visiting the coliseum. This rather narrow street dead ends into the church. You may enter, free of charge and view the interior. Many fine examples of religious iconography throughout. We spent a good 45 minutes here. Near the back, you may purchase a handmade wooden cross on a twine necklace for a small donation. So lovely, I urge you to seek it out.
