★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nel 1824, per il difficile accesso all’erta salita dell’antica chiesa dell’Assunta sul colle San Nicola, il Parroco De Nicolais decise di edificare una nuova chiesa dedicata a San Nicola (che fu benedetta il 25 Maggio 1825), in posizione più bassa, tra il villaggio e il colle. Per ornar la nuova fu spogliata la vecchia, dalla quale fu tolta anche l’antica statua di Santa Maria Assunta, protettrice della parrocchia. L’antica chiesa fu messa in oblio e con l’andar del tempo cominciò a diroccarsi. La nuova chiesa, tuttavia, ebbe breve vita, visto che già nel 1948 era semicadente e oggi non ne resta traccia. L’edificazione della chiesa attuale, sulla strada Teramo-Ascoli, vide il coinvolgimento dei parrocchiani con l’istituzione di un comitato, e anche degli emigrati in America che inviarono una sostanziosa colletta. Dopo la posa della prima pietra il 23 agosto 1950 i lavori si arrestarono per riprendere nel 1958. Anche le decorazioni interne hanno visto la partecipazione popolare e ogni elemento è legato al contributo di un certo parrocchiano, come la Via Crucis, il Sacro Cuore, l’Addolorata, il Bambin Gesù (che cadde nel terremoto del 30 ottobre 2016, ora sostituito), il Fonte Battesimale, la Croce per via crucis. Nel 1962 venne eretto il campanile con l’orologio con il contributo di Domenico Pepe.
 In 1824, due to the difficult access to the steep ascent of the ancient church of the Assunta on the San Nicola hill, the parish priest De Nicolais decided to build a new church dedicated to San Nicola (which was blessed on May 25, 1825), in a more low, between the village and the hill. To decorate the new one, the old one was stripped, from which the ancient statue of Santa Maria Assunta, protector of the parish, was also removed. The ancient church was forgotten and over time it began to fall apart. The new church, however, was short-lived, given that already in 1948 it was half-falling and today no trace remains. The construction of the current church, on the Teramo-Ascoli road, saw the involvement of parishioners with the establishment of a committee, and also of the emigrants to America who sent a substantial collection. After the foundation stone was laid on 23 August 1950, work stopped to resume in 1958. The interior decorations also saw popular participation and each element is linked to the contribution of a certain parishioner, such as the Via Crucis, the Sacred Heart, the 'Addolorata, the Bambin Gesù (which fell in the earthquake of 30 October 2016, now replaced), the Baptismal Font, the Cross by way of the cross. In 1962 the bell tower was erected with the clock with the contribution of Domenico Pepe.
