Uvnitř jsou zrestaurované gotické a renesanční malby, kolem typické " protipovodňové " veronské hrobky. It was worth looking around and entering this smaller church next to the large S. Anastazio. Inside are restored Gothic and Renaissance paintings, around a typical "flood" tomb of Verona.

Solo nel 1424 fu intitolata al santo veronese, San Pietro Martire. Nel XIV secolo divenne la cappella dei cavalieri tedeschi brandeburghesi che la ornarono di stemmi e affreschi votivi nei quali è raffigurato San Giorgio. Sopra l'arco che dava l'accesso al convento dei Domenicani, è posta, dal 1321, la tomba di Guglielmo da Castelbarco che fu presa successivamente a modello per la realizzazione delle Arche Scaligere. E' visitabile gratuitamente dal 01 giugno al 30 settembre il sabato e la domenica dalle ore 14.00 alle 18.00. Former deconsecrated Catholic church, located next to the church of Sant'Anastasia. Built in the 13th century by the Dominicans in Gothic style. Only in 1424 it was dedicated to the Saint from Verona, San Pietro Martire. In the 14th century it became the chapel of the Brandenburg German knights who decorated it with coats of arms and votive frescoes depicting Saint George. Above the arch that gave access to the convent of the Dominicans, from 1321, the tomb of Guglielmo da Castelbarco was placed, which was later taken as a model for the construction of the Scaliger Tombs. It can be visited free of charge from 01 June to 30 September on Saturdays and Sundays from 2.00pm to 6.00pm.

Oggi sconsacrata, è uno degli edifici religiosi più suggestivi del trecento veronese, che conserva gran parte dell'arredo pittorico dell'epoca. La piccola chiesa di San Giorgietto (anche detta di San Pietro Martire) venne eretta dai frati Domenicani attorno alla fine del XIII secolo, pochi anni prima che avessero inizio i lavori per la costruzione dell’adiacente grande basilica dedicata a Santa Anastasia; di certo i lavori per la sua edificazione dovevano essere a buon punto già nel 1283, quando sul muro esterno venne incastonata l’arca del nobile Guinicello dei Principi. Attorno alla metà del XIV secolo la chiesa divenne una sorta di CAPPELLA PRIVATA DEI CAVALIERI TEDESCHI in servizio presso la corte di Cangrande II della Scala. The unrecognized church of San Giorgetto is located on the left side of the basilica of Santa Anastasia, along the path that leads from Piazza Erbe to the Duomo. Today deconsecrated, it is one of the most evocative religious buildings of the fourteenth century in Verona, which retains much of the pictorial furnishings of the time. The small church of San Giorgietto (also known as San Pietro Martire) was built by the Dominican friars around the end of the 13th century, a few years before work began on the construction of the adjacent large basilica dedicated to Santa Anastasia; certainly the works for its construction must have been well advanced already in 1283, when the ark of the noble Guinicello dei Principi was set on the outer wall. Around the middle of the 14th century the church became a sort of PRIVATE CHAPEL OF THE GERMAN KNIGHTS in service at the court of Cangrande II della Scala.

Nel 1424 la chiesa venne ceduta alla Confraternita di San Pietro Martire da cui l’intitolazione al Santo veronese, ucciso dagli eretici nel 1254 ed in seguito divenuto patrono della città con San Zeno. All’interno, a navata unica divisa da due campate, interessanti dipinti di artisti veronesi della metà del Trecento: LA Madonna con Bambino in trono, Sant’Antonio Abate e Santa Caterina e la Madonna con Bambino in trono e San Giovanni Evangelista, opere entrambe di Turone Di Maxio; l’Annunciazione di G. Falconetto e una bella Crocifissione del 1354. Bello anche il pavimento in marmo rosso veronese e bianco d’Istria. he construction dates back to the 13th century when the friars would have built the church on the site of San Remigio and connected it to the convent. Inside, with a single nave divided by two bays, interesting paintings by Veronese artists of the mid-fourteenth century: the Madonna with Child Enthroned, Sant'Antonio Abate and Santa Caterina and the Madonna with Child Enthroned and San Giovanni Evangelista, both works by Turone Di Maxio; the Annunciation by G. Falconetto and a beautiful Crucifixion of 1354. The red Veronese and white Istrian marble floor is also beautiful.
