Fu uno dei primi conventi francescani in Sicilia......
Il convento fu demolito definitivamente nel 1964.
L' 8 dicembre di ogni anno vi si celebra la festa dell' IMMACOLATA CONCEZIONE della quale si conserva una statua lignea policroma del 1693 dello scultore Camillo Confalone.
