Superb experience! Tasty food, but also clothing, recreated typical Pompeii garden, great staff. Ancient Pompeii inspired menu is 38€ (possible to share 1/2). It is different from modern Italian cuisine and well worth to try.

We came here on a recommendation from our host and we’re just expecting a normal pizza/pasta place. It was so much more and after the initial surprise we were delighted. This place is an incredible immersion with incredible service and the attention to detail is extraordinary- the bread is a recreation of an loaf found in Pompeii, the frescoes on the walls are hand painted and took 2.5 years to complete, and the menu is both imaginative and delicious with many Roman-inspired dishes. To really get in the mood, you are presented with a costume to wear which was very cute, comfortable and just good fun. Usually I’d be wary of the gimick-y-ness of such a concept but honestly this was perfect. The attention to detail and the ethos of the restaurant were great and the staff were so attentive and proud of what they were doing it was delightful.

We had dinner here after a long day at Vesuvius followed by Pompeii. It was absolutely fantastic! Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff were extremely welcoming. If I’m ever in Pompeii again I’ll be back here!

All I can say is... wow. My boyfriend and I visited Italy for a short trip. After a long day of tours in the Pompeii park, our host tried seating us at a tourist trap for lunch. Because my boyfriend and I only had a short amount of time in Italy, we really placed priority on good, authentic Italian food. We hustled out of our host's recommendation, and wandered around until we came across Caupona. The atmosphere was wonderful - a much needed break from the bustle of the park. The weather was gorgeous, the staff was so accommodating; we really couldn't have enjoyed our time more. The best meal of our trip was the linguini with cream and lemon. It was phenomenal! The tortello with pumpkin sauce was a close runner-up. You could tell this spot was a hit because all of the locals were packing up the restaurant laughing and enjoying themselves. I wish we could have eaten here everyday!

We tried to enjoy dinner here many times but with Covid and travel upsets our previous attempts failed. We were thrilled to finally enjoy dinner here, and our expectations were lore than met!!!! First, let me say if you are concerned this a tourist trap - don’t be β€” it is not! While there is some noteworthy historical intel in the culinary experience (food, atmosphere, and decor) this is not a β€œrain forest cafe” sing along stop β€” this is a culinary delight like none other we’ve had in Italy so far! A must for locals and for those visiting. Second, the food - I wasn’t sure what to expect from the food but as a foodie let me say, this was one extraordinary culinary adventure. A few of us got the meat tasting, another the slave menu. From start to finish, every course was a palette experience, work of art and memorable! This was Michelin quality dining!!! No doubt!!! Third, we were greeted by a friendly professional who was also a sommelier and suggested a Spumante, a dry white and a red. We were hesitant at first because only 3 of us were really drinking so with a DD it felt like maybe it would be a little much. However, we dove into the experience and enjoyed every wine! It made a huge difference that they decanter it for us too and it was a pleasure to see that offered to us - a class act indeed!!!! Atmosphere, this was romantic, warm and yet festive at the same time. I don’t know what a Roman eatery was like back in the day, but I sure felt transported here and look forward to entering another world here in the future! We will return again and again for special occasions and with out of town visitors! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Fantastic lunch!! First of all, the food is delicate and delicious. Secondly, the staff is high in character, friendly, and... all dressed in toga! After many hours visiting Pompeii antique site, we were more than happy to seat in that little and calm oasis with great food!! So, the few minutes extra walk after visiting Pompeii are very worst it!!!

An absolute delight from start to finish. Forget going to a touristy restaurant. The food here is the best I’ve had so far in Italy. Fascinating flavours, the chefs clearly knows what they are doing. Service was great and very relaxing atmosphere. If you’re in Pompeii you simply must eat at this restaurant.
