Posto bellissimo e suggestivo.
Beautiful and suggestive place. .. outside to park there are squatters who in the end take you as much as the municipal parking 10 euro approximately. .. They send you to kiosks or shops outside the main entrance where (we too) you can take audio guides that cost less than those inside (8 euros against 10 in the park) I recommend getting water and food because inside everything is very expensive (water from € 3 to € 5 for half a liter) there is plenty of space for packed lunches inside. .. Anyway inside it is very dispersive so it is good to choose a precise path otherwise it turns empty!

Rekommenderas verkligen.
Incredible and amazing excavation of the city of Pompei. Fantastic buildings and paintings that give a good picture of the tragic catastrophe at the volcanic eruption. There is an incredible amount to see so make sure you have proper time planned. If it is summer and sun, it will be incredibly hot in the ruins of the stone city. We had +32 so it was a tough struggle and a lot of water was needed to drink, there are some good places to fill the water bottle. Highly recommended.

I did the descriptive reverse route, first I described the villa of mysteries and now I describe the sensations I had while visiting the excavations for the umpteenth time. I am a Campano and I state that I visited them several times, the last time after several years of absence. The splendid September day, clear air, not too hot even if people stopped at the fountains. Much has changed, the management of the new director Massimo Osanna is very well maintained and the management is noticed. I made the classic route starting from Porta Marina, the forum, the basilica, the building of Eumachia, the Stabian baths, some thermopoly, then the triangular hole, the theater, the teerme still and I reached the amphitheater, where a shows with the casts, the same in the gym another exhibit of finds of villas buried by the usual eruption of 79. I remained also this time enthusiastic and published the photos of the pleasant trip.

Curreri Buses Here's the problem with getting a Curreri bus to and from the airport. If you've just arrived in Naples it's a quick and easy option (€10 for the bus against €60-€80 for a taxi to Pompei). Naples airport is where the route starts and Pompei is the first stop so you can be reasonably confident on timings. But if you're going back to Naples airport its a very different story. You'll be getting on a bus that started in Sorrento (i.e.: a long way south). The Pompei pick up point is different to where the bus drops you off and even when you've found the correct spot there's no guarantee the bus will turn up. We waited 45 minutes until an official from the tourist office told us the bus is regularly delayed for several hours because of traffic on the coast. We tried calling Curreri but nobody was picking up the phone so we had to get a taxi instead. Apparently a lot of tourists have the same problem. So, Curreri might be an option if you have plenty of time and are relaxed about delays. But its probably not a good idea if you're heading to the airport and have a flight to catch.
