β β β β β You need to pay to enter the cathedral. As a practicing Catholic I find this outrageous. A Church is primarily the temple of God, not a museum for which you need to pay a ticket for.

β β β β β The cathedral is different from other cathedrals. Worth the trip. Donβt miss the wooden sculpture from 1228. Like nothing Iβve ever seen. The composition is unique and very advanced for this era.

β β β β β Lucky enough to have visited 2 days after its been reopened! Stunning paintings and statues. Elegant and rich marble floor. A new altar is designed to get visitors attention once entered.

β β β β β Not worth going inside at a high price of 16 euro per adult. I would suggest walking past it and going to the edge of the city where you can get some amazing views of the areas surrounding Volterra and it will cost you nothing. Since the city is not too large you can go see it, but in my opinion it's not a must-see at all.
