β β β β β This was very interesting and worth the trip from Rome. We took the tour down into the catacombs, which lasted about 40 minutes. We were able to see some famous burials, important families' tombs, and unknown people's tombs. There were frescos and ancient inscriptions. Tours were given in several languages, the last one being at 5 pm on the day we visited. No photos or videos are allowed in the catacombs. The catacombs are NOT wheelchair accessible. But the tour guide did allow a guest in a wheelchair to listen to the initial presentation before waiting for her group at the exit of the catacombs.

β β β β β Definitely worth a visit , the burial place of Christians from the time that their religion was still forbidden. Some half a million people had been buried here from the second to fourth century. The guided tours are in various languages and well done. Dress for winter as its very cold inside , even in summer. The via appia is nearby and should be visited for a walk in calm nature at the same occasion

β β β β β Definitely an awesome place to visit. They donβt allow photographs, but I snuck some in anyway. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of fascinating things. Getting here from the city wasnβt hard. We took a cab and wasnβt expensive. Make sure you have a plan to get back since finding a cab here wonβt be easy. There is a bud that comes by every 20 minutes that I took back into town. I would recommend coming to visit. It was a highlight of our trip for me.

β β β β β A very interesting place.
The tour should be booked in advance, because there are (at the moment) limited places for each guide.
The guide is included with the 8β¬ fee.
There are yours available in English, Italiano, Spanish, French and German.
We booked the German guide. He knows a lot regarding the catacombs and he is open for any questions.
To take photographs is not allowed, but it is a graveyard and so it makes sense.
Very interesting, also for a child.

β β β β β Interesting and insightful tour of this mind blowing step back into Romes history. The 118 bus stops just outside, or you can ride a bike through the beautiful park.

β β β β β I truly enjoyed it. There is a LOT to be seen underneath and the guided tour explains a lot about what happened underneath and the history.
The tour (ours in English) was at a (too) quick pace but still allows you to take in the amount of labyrinth underneath. It's just well lit for the right ambience.
Worth a shout if you haven't been inside a catacombe before.
