★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I am in Florence, this is my "local". It is located at an attractive square and is in my opinion is one of the best values in Florence. The owner, Marco, is friendly and welcoming as are all the staff. My favorites are Stephanie and Noemi. Both are very kind, smart, and I could listen to them speak English for hours. They and everyone are very laid back but attentive. It might be easy for someone that doesn't speak italian well to misinterpret their laid back nature. Rest assured, you are welcomed and will be taken care of just like the non-stop stream of locals stopping in for an espresso, beer or wine. Almost always, Marco has a playlist of excellent jazz playing. Not too loud, not too soft, but the perfect volume. Regardless the time of day, Cafe degli Artigiani is A+. Don't miss their gelateria that is next door. The best gelato I have had in Florence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You have to try this place while you’re in Florence. It’s a small real Italien bar/café. First time we had a delicious lunch with a glass of white wine for a reasonable price. Second time we had coffee with dolce. The chocolate cake was perfect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small coffee shop with cozy decor and good music. Staff spoke English and were very friendly. We had a few desserts, cappuccino and late. Both coffee and dessers were really good. At first coffee shop appears tiny with no space to sit, however, there is a doorway around the counter that leads to a larger room with tables. On the other side of the room, there is a staircase that leads upstairs, where they have more sitting space.
