A call to the UK service centre has hopefully sorted the matter out but should not have happened. As they say read the contract fully before you sign.
The Citroen C3 instead of the Lancia gamma was fine.
Update. Spoke to UK customer services and they have promised to process a refund for the charges which were due to a misunderstanding. Quite amiable.

Car - with strong cigerettes smell which was worst part of experience.
Techninally car was ok, return was smooth and quick.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ @Budget waiting to pick up a car in MPX, but due to understaffing we might spend this beautiful day waiting. 12 counters, opened just one! Around 30 to 40 people waiting. Italian efficiency in resplendence. Some guys had to stay overnight because they closed the shop yesterday and sent them somewhere to spend a night. Later adding 2 stars for easy quick return. But seriously, two guys were forced stay overnight as they did ask them to leave as they were closing. That is bed reputation there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid at all costs. A week after I returned the car, they charged me 3x the price of my rental because they said I delivered the car a day late and damaged. I sent photo proof of the car being returned without damage within the contract window and now they haven't responded for weeks despite followups. It also took over 90 minutes to pick up the car. Do not rent from here.
UPDATE: I have attempted to contact their customer support without success and they're still the worst rental company I've ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs.
