Botania Relais & Spa

Was surprised to find such an oasis of a hotel. What a lovely place to spend 10 days. Built into the side of the mountain they have fully made use of the landscape with an intriguing range of buildings and gardens all beautifully kept. Staff are lovely and friendly, helpful and I get the impression that they are not just after a tip at the end if my stay, like some hotels I visited. Rooms are lovely and well air conditioned. The last and most important point is that itailians come on holiday here, one told me last night that this is the best hotel she has stayed in on the island and she has come to the island here for years.

Very nice property situated away from the crowds. They helped with coordinating many things for us given our lack of Italian language which was appreciated. We found both restaurants on-site to have great food and found a new red wine in our top 10 list (Blu Onice). Housekeeping was flexible and great and anything you needed was just a quick phone call away. If there was one thing I could change it would be grouping smokers vs non smokers into separate areas of the restaurants as some people are not considerate enough to blow their smoke in a different direction. Smell is directly connected with taste and this can often ruin a meal.This would also set a higher standard for reducing covid infections as you will not have people Inhaling and exhaling very deeply as this seems to be a threat to mitigate an airborne virus in crowded spaces. However this behavior is at every hotel in Italy. Other than that? I would stay again.

This might be the best hotel on Ischia. It's located in a quiet garden and all the rooms and suites are distributed in small villas throughout the area, so it never feels crowded or busy. All facilities and rooms are exceptionally clean. The beautiful garden, or park, contains a vegetable garden, fruit trees, vines, lots of lush and well-kept vegetation, two small lakes with turtles, a few cats, a small amphitheater and of course an indoor spa with fitness and two pools, a heated outdoor pool, a cave bar, a pool bar, a reading room, the main restaurant and another vegetarian restaurant (which was closed during our visit but we didn't mind). So that's a lot to do during a stay and you don't really need to leave the hotel if you don't feel like it. The San Montano beach and Negombo thermal garden is about 5-10 minutes by foot on a quiet walking path and the hotel also provides free shuttle service. The main entrance is from a busy road (the main road on the island) and there is no sidewalk on the street, so be aware of that if you like walking. Most rooms are far away from the road and oriented away from the road so never hear any traffic noise. The breakfast is of very high quality using mostly local ingredients, all pastry, breads and cakes are baked in-house. The dinner is a haute-cuisine experience also mostly from local ingredients and traditional recipes, which is great and we enjoyed it very much, but I think it would be great also to have an simpler and cheaper option. Even in the cocktail bar the bartenders are using fruits and herbs from the garden to create some drinks. The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful, in fact I think it's the best personnel I have ever met in a hotel. This includes the reception staff, the spa manager, the bartenders, waiters, gardeners, cleaners, everyone. We stayed for two weeks and at the end were relaxed, but also sad we had to leave. We hope we will return.

"Wonderful experience" The hotel, surrounded by nature, is in a perfect location, far away from city noises , and quite close to the harbor from where you can take the ferry to Capri, Procida and Naples .The staff is very helpful and very friendly, guiding us throughout our stay. The rooms are excellent and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast and genuine local food. You can eat their own products! You can also relax in the hotel spa or in the pool. I warmly recommend this hotel!

Where peace reigns ... Stunning structure, well-kept and clean rooms beyond belief, professional staff, respectful and ready to meet the needs of customers. Clean and elegant restaurant, Spa of excellent quality, always under control ... In short, no negative points can be found ... High level !!!

This hotel is just amazing. From check in until check out everything is perfect. The location is beautiful, the rooms have a lot of space and always beautiful view. The staff is super friendly, no they are outstanding and always willing to help. The spa is amazing and the breakfast the perfect mix between continental vs typical Italien style. One Tipp: if you are sensible for Moskitos, take some protection spray. Due to the natural environment you will find a lot :-) A great service add on is the free shuttle to the most important places of the island. Thank you, we are looking forward to come back!

Botania is a magical, unforgettable experience. A nature lovers dream featuring beautiful flowers, plants, ponds, wildlife, and an organic garden. The entire staff provides incredibly noteworthy customer service, simple touches that make a difference. Don’t forget to make reservations for the restaurants and book services at the spa!

I just left this place after 4 amazing nights, and this may be the best hotel I've ever stayed at! The room, the service, the beautiful grounds of the resort, and the food. The room was clean, seems like it was recently updated, had a private terrace, and had other great amenities. The bedding and towels were all very new & fresh, which is something I found to be different in older hotels in the area. The personnel of the resort were so tremendously welcoming and accommodating to any request. Special thanks to the guest relations manager Titti, whom I could WhatsApp message whenever I had questions or needed something- much easier than calling every time I had a question! Also a thanks to the amazing shuttle driver who drove us to the beach & the town of Forio with their free shuttle service (to those places). The reception (Giovanni was so happy and kind, but all were great!) and the restaurant staff were also so warm and kind. There's where I get to the restaurant staff- the included buffet breakfast (and other meals we had there) were incredible! The food was so good that we really didn't have to leave the hotel to get any other local delicacies or good food. They had such a variety even at breakfast that I could get everything I wanted to try on this trip in that one meal if I tried! The grounds were just beautiful- the pool & spa are amazing and my "happy place" I'll try to think about when I need to relax. The gardens were so well precariously cultivated / maintained, I loved the lemon & orange trees and all the different types of flowers. Not a weed or a dirty path in sight, it felt like paradise. From various parts of the property you can either see the mountain in Ischia or the water in the distance, something that definitely added to the feeling of this bubble of perfection.
