★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the hidden jewels of Christian Rome, hidden in the small Piazza di San Paolo alla Regola. The Chutch features a modest architecture, especially compared to the great Italian Baroque of the Rom,an Basilicas and near by churches, but this is the place were St. Paul spent his time as a prisoner in Rome. His house/jail is still preserved as a small chapel inside the Church. A place not to miss for whoever is following the steps of St. Paul in Rome. The church is usually not open in the mornings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The first residence for Saint Paul in Rome was a house later turned into an oratory and subsequently into a church.
Once belonged to the Sicilian branch of the Third Order Franciscans hence forth the writing on the façade completed in 1728. Property is still under the TOR but i have no clear info about who is actually running the church at present SCV or who else. Anyway i have not yet visited the underground chambers so I will have occasion to find out.
