β β β β β In a city that has thousands of memorable churches, Our Lady in Trastevere still manages to stand out. It's older than most having existed since the third century, albeit replaced and restored several times since. Much of the interior of the current church is from the twelfth century. Mosaics date to the same period and give the church a distinctly Byzantine look.

β β β β β The mosaics outside as well as those inside are fabulous, byzantine style, from the 13th century. This Church is the most beautiful in trastevere, the interior being the combination of different styles of byzantine, renaissance and baroque era. The piazza in front is also the preferred spot for hanging around and having dinner as the view is so beautiful

β β β β β This is awesome piece of art and architecture. There are not so many people, so you can enjoy the peaceful silence of this place. The mosaics and little angels holding the ring in one of the tower are heart breaking.
